Unique one-of-a-kind American hand stitched patchwork crazy quilt using the embroidery needlework style of this era. The year ‘1888’ is embroidered near the center of the quilt (photo #5), which also contains numerous initials of the quilt maker and/or possibly the members of the family, typical of the period. Measures approximately 57" x 67". This beautiful handiwork was hand-quilted instead of being tied like most crazy quilts; has burnt orange backing. Historic, very collectible and in excellent shape for its age! This quilt has been evaluated in person by a quilting expert with 65 years of experience.
